DIETS THAT WORK! The Biggest Loser- Bob Harper & Dolvett Quince


The Biggest Loser is a TV show that started in the United States in 2004, but is now a phenomenon in many countries around the world. The Biggest Loser Diet is currently rated #2 'Best Weight Loss Diet Plan for Weight Loss' by the U.S. News & World Report, 2012. Sharing the #2 title with Jenny Craig and Raw Food DietWhen a celebrity stands behind a weight loss program, it takes it to the next level getting more followers but somehow The Biggest Loser has managed to stay on top as one the best diet plans for weight loss without celebrity endorsements. U.S. Season 13 titled 'No Excuses', had an average of 6.44 million viewers through out the season.

The Biggest Loser challenges overweight people to get off their couches and get fit. The United States Season 13 Winner, 22 year old Jeremy Britt, (see him below) lost 199 pounds, amazing! He won the grand prize of $250,000. There was also an at home Biggest Loser winner from the contestants sent home. 38 year old Mike Messina who got kicked off the 2nd week won that $100,000 prize. The show which returns soon is televised on NBC, TV network on Tuesdays here in the U.S. There are currently no celebrities endorsing the program. The Biggest Loser diet plan is geared towards ordinary people, motivating those at the ranch in Calabasas, CA, as well as those watching at home. Contestants at the ranch are divided into teams based on how many trainers there are. This 'No Excuses' Season, had two trainers, and 10 pairs of Contestants. 


Contestants workout several hours every day, and also have to follow a set nutrition meal plan which they cook or prepare for themselves. They have 3 main meals and at least 2 snacks, and have to eat every 4 hours, about 1200 calories for women and 1800 calories for men daily. They do get one cheat day a week, where women can eat up to 2000 calories and men up to 3000 calories total.
There are weekly weigh-In's after which contestants get to send someone from the losing team home. The Biggest Loser program has resorts in Malibu, California  Ivins, Utah; and Niagara, Java Center, NY, where one can pay to stay, and be put to shape. The program also offers online support, workout DVDs, packaged meals and shakes that are sold in major groceries.

Mariah Carey lost 30 pounds on Jenny Craig and got her pre-pregnancy body back. The songbird is looking great after gaining a whopping 70 pounds! Mariah Carey had gone through a lot the past year, 2011 when she had the publicized miscarriage. That probably contributed to her weight gain, and the when she finally did get pregnant with twins, she gained more weight and she actually says that it felt like she had gained about 9000 pounds. DIETS THAT WORK! Janet Jackson - Nutrisystem

Janet Jackson is stunning! She debuted her amazing weight loss on a Nutrisystem TV commercial back in April of this year. The bright, 'Tangerine Red' dress she had on helped her make a statement; 'check me out!' The beautiful dress hugged her new found curves, emphasizing her slim waist. Her smile as seen in the photo below says, 'I made it!' Janet has done it again! I agree with the slogan on Nutrisystem's website; 'This is what success looks like!' referring to the 5'4" songstress who many are saying appears to have lost about 50 pounds. She looks great!
  
Janet has battled with her weight for years. Her yo yo dieting and ever changing body has been front page news, with tabloids having a field day with her photos. They've shown us her with flat board six pack abs, and also shown her balloon up to 180 pounds. Hopefully, this is it, but only time will tell if she manages to keep the weight off this time. 

As we wait to see if Janet holds on to her new, trim, sexy body, let the battle begin. What battle you ask? Janet vs Jennifer vs Mariah? Not really, I believe it's the battle of 3 major, popular diet and weight loss programs. The Big dogs in the diet world right now include:

DIETS THAT WORK! Jennifer Hudson - Weight Watchers

Academy Award winning actress and songstress Jennifer Hudson looks great! She lost over 80 pounds, going from a size 16, down to a size 6 using Weight Watchers. Miss Hudson is the current spokeswoman of the very popular diet plan. She loved the program so much that she opened up her own Weight Watchers Center in her hometown, in south side Chicago.
